Skip to main content Overview The Smarty connector reduces user friction and drop-off by providing address suggestions based on the first few characters that customers enter. The connector guarantees accuracy by showing only genuine, listed addresses.
You can use this functionality in multiple contexts, such as customer onboarding, adding an address to an existing customer record, or any check-out process.
For US addresses, the connector also enriches basic address information with street address metadata using the Grand Central Unified API Specification. These metadata inputs verify and standardize US postal addresses by adding context regarding the address type, reliability, or the recipient registered at the address.
The connector is available on Backbase Marketplace. You can obtain a Smarty contract and access it directly through Backbase for faster time-to-market.

For International Addresses: API Selection : The connector checks the country field in the request:
If US or USA: Routes to US AutoComplete Pro API
Otherwise: Routes to International Address AutoComplete API

Default minimum characters for search: 3
Default number of entries returned: 1-10 (configurable)

Example: Convert “Street” to “ST”, “Apt” to ”#”
